The time has finally come for more Laverne & Shirley DVDs! It was just announced a few weeks ago that the season 5 DVD will be arriving on shelves April 10, 2012. It's been a few years since the last season was released and this absence left many fans wondering if we'd ever get to see the lost seasons ever again.
Well, thanks to a channel called Hub, you can now see every episode. It's amazing! Here I was thinking I'd never get to see the final seasons everyone has talked so much about. So I set up a season pass on my DVR and let it record all episodes. Weeks go by, and I notice they're playing the entire series in order. I was like "Yeehaw!" Granted the color isn't as crisp as the restored DVDs, but still, you're witnessing history here, folks!
The Hub is actually a cool throwback channel. During the day, it's mostly cartoons and kid's shows. But during the evening they put on Happy Days, Family Ties, The Wonder Years and Doogie Howser, M.D. (Click here to see their line-up. Click here to see what channel you can watch it on.)
Pre-Order/Purchase the season 5 DVD here from Amazon.

The Singing Ornament
I was browsing eBay for some L&S memorabilia and stumbled upon this. Let me tell you, it wasn't easy getting this. But it's neat to look at for any L&S fan. Their faces are pretty accurate, the Boo Boo Kitty & Schotz sign on each side are perfect, and the theme song that plays when pressed is just what I wanted to hear. Lovely!
Here's what went down on eBay: I was the only person who bid on it the entire length of the auction, and then the last few hours, someone mysteriously bids it up. I bid again, and I really want this, so I go up to like $20, which seems crazy now. But I'm finally outbid, and by that time I don't want it anymore. The auction ends at $25 I think and I'm bummed. Next thing you know I get an email for a second chance offer. I refused it, but I'm no dummy. I know what the seller was doing. He wasn't selling any of his junk and I bid, so he decides to take advantage of me and use an alternate screen name of his to bid up the item. It's a common practice on eBay and it's happened to me more than once, I'm sad to say.
So a few days later I check back to see if any more ornaments are listed, and I see this one for $6 on Buy It Now. I buy it and afterwards realize it's the same guy I tried to buy from before. I'm thrilled when I open up my box to see the sweet ornament, but there's a little note inside. I can't remember it word for word, but something to the effect of "You really lucked out this time. You practically stole it from me!" No signature, no thank you, nothing else but a few words typed out on a thin piece of paper. Creepy and rude all at the same time. If he didn't want to sell it for $6, he shouldn't have put it on eBay. Just sayin'...
So if you're interested in buying overpriced, corny Hallmark ornaments from some old dude in California, email me and I'll send along his info.
But anywho, the ornament is awesome and it adorned our tree for the first time this past Christmas. I think I only pressed the music button like 12 times. (And I sang along each time too.)
